"Cloning Jesus,” shows how science and people cross ethical and moral lines that lead to great misfortune with dangerous and fatal results. This book makes for great reading; you will never read another story or plot like this one. This is a page turner and you will not want to put this book down until you have read the final sentences on that last page. It keeps your attention and interest throughout the entire book. When the leading character decides to clone a human being he ends up becoming a criminal in the process. He wants to clone not just another human being but the Son Of God himself—Jesus Christ! This leads him to seek out “The Shroud of Turin” to get DNA from the old blood stains. There are many twists and turns in the story and they do end until you have finished the entire book.

I read this book in one day. I just couldn't wait to read what would happen next. At first I thought it would be too far-fetched to be possible to clone a human, but this story made it truly believable. I believe the Shroud is authentic, but will we ever be positive? Are we truly meant to "play God", and clone humans, or to know all the facts in this lifetime? This is just one possibility of what the end result might be. I recommend this book to all who wonder just what is possible!Product details

Cloning Jesus Mr Jan E Culbertson 9781463561451 Books Reviews
The second half of the book is better than the first, but the entire work needs work. There are hundreds of errors, errors easy to fix. I'm not just talking about spelling. Word order, spacing, extra letters that turn HIS into THIS. The middle of a sentence was often a line are two before the sentence it comes from even begins. It is like reading a Rough Draft typed fast by someone not familiar with typing. Normally I would never finish a book so poorly written, but I have an idea for a Cloning Christ novel and I was checking out the competition. The writer violates the 'show don't tell' writer's rule of thumb. The cloning of Jesus doesn't even come up until you are about a third of the way through the book. There was a nice twist in the story, but in the trial I kept wanting to yell at my , they could have defended the doctor this way, or that way, why don't they? Poor representation. The book seems like it was an idea of potential rushed to press. One thing I wish a writers would believe is this proof reading is part of the writing process.
If you like science fiction-mystery stories like those crafted by a certain Dan Brown, then Jan Culbertson’s ‘Cloning Jesus’ is just right up your alley—and more.
Dr. Joseph Benning, disillusioned with his relative obscurity in his chosen career, suffers an emotional crisis when he learns of a Scottish scientist’s success in cloning a sheep. He then sets out to try doing the unthinkable clone a human. And while at it, why not try to shoot at the moon—that is, to try to clone Jesus Christ using DNA extracted from the blood stain on the famous Shroud of Turin. If that doesn’t get your blood pumping, I don’t know what will. But that’s only for starters, as Benning is actually setting out on a downward spiral of his own personal destruction that threatens to take away everything and everyone he loves.
I have read quite a few of Culbertson’s other books, and frankly, he has become one of my favourite authors I will buy his next book in a heartbeat. What I love about Culbertson’s writing style is the sheer unpretentiousness—even if he’s crafting emotionally and technically complicated scenes, there is always a sense of easy cadence that makes the unbelievable believable. And that could not be more obvious in ‘Cloning Jesus’. Also, Culbertson further spices up things a bit by throwing in some amount of sex, but without spoiling it to depravity.
Overall, I enjoyed every page of this book. As always, it has that distinct Culbertson class to it—easy to read, yet quite a page turner, ‘Cloning Jesus’ is the perfect book to enjoy on a train or an airplane or during a relaxing weekend. Another solid five stars for this one.
